PURPOSE
Kyneton Primary School community nurtures a caring, safe and happy
environment which promotes self-discipline and responsibility, mutual respect
and tolerance, self-esteem and genuine pride. Students are guided towards
maximising their personal growth and academic excellence so that they become
positive contributors to the world.
SCHOOL CONTEXT
Kyneton Primary School, a medium sized school of approximately 280
students, is situated in the town of Kyneton 90 kilometres north west of
Melbourne. Established in 1856, the school is an integral part of the town
which is predicted to grow from 5000 to 10000 people within the next ten years.
The school is on a site adjacent to the main street and comprises the original
bluestone buildings and the newer buildings completed in 1986. Classrooms and
specialist areas are housed within the modern two storey building. The well
maintained grounds offer garden areas, a playing field, sports courts and play
equipment
The school has a vibrant learning communty and dedicated teachers who are
dynamic learners themselves.
The school strives for an “open door” policy where school community voice
can be recognised and appreciated. Kyneton Primary School is a family friendly
school with an emphasis on a three way learning environment where teachers,
parents and students all work together to support learning.
The School Council and community are comitted to improving the school and
supporting a culture of warm cooperation and respect that embraces all members
of the school and wider community.
